[Monthly Game Night] If the world doesn't end in May...
...would people be interested in an apocalypse in June?
Hey all! I haven't made it out to a Game Night yet, but if I were to come out in June, would anyone be interested in taking a stab at Apocalypse World? It's the game I'm currently in love with and am willing to spread the infection! *laugh*

Well, it's a roleplaying
Well, it's a roleplaying game, not a board game, so that may be why it didn't appear on a board game site! *laugh*

It's a game about scarcity and violence and what it means to be human when life is short, nasty and brutish... are we beasts or something more or only dreamers who'll soon return to the clay, bloodied and torn and forgotten.
And no one, not even the GM, know what the apocalypse was... it happened over 50 years ago! All the players discover it through play, through questions and answers as their characters struggle to survive.

I've heard good things, and would love to try it, but I can only make it if Game Night is held on either Monday or Tuesday night, so we'll have to wait and see.
I don't think we'll switch
I don't think we'll switch days again - at least not in the foreseeable future - but if you can't make your schedule fit around Game Nights I'm sure there will be opportunities for trying AW outside of those nights - between Chroma and I, who both appear to have ongoing games and experience running it, I'm pretty sure we can set something up if you're interested.

I see. I didn't realize that the question presented in the poll had been settled. Well, that's too bad, I was hoping for Tuesdays.

The intent of the poll was to sanity check our decision of moving it to Wednesdays, which seems to work best for the organizers. We would've reconsidered if we'd gotten an overwhelming response that Wed was bad, Tue was good - as it stands we're at 50/50 with 6 respondents. I'm going to leave the poll up for a while and if it changes drastically we may reconsider. Right now though, we're trying to get a stable schedule to ensure that people can plan ahead.
Maybe we'll see about sneaking in a Tuesday night sometime in addition to the first Wed just to check on the turnout. We'll see! :)

If the Game Night had been moved to Tuesdays, I'd be unable to attend, so there'd still be no AW for you! :)
I've been meaning to check
I've been meaning to check out game night for a while, and Apocalypse World is a truly awesome game. However, as I'm a player in Chroma's regular campaign, I'll play only if there aren't enough mutated bodies to get the game off the ground. Otherwise, I'll see what else is happening that night and let others have a crack at the game.

Assuming the board game side of things is satisfied, I'm totally in, Kevin. I've been running a few games of AW but have never seen it from a player's perspective, and would love to try.

Okay, my wife got into a bicycle accident this evening. She's okay, but scraped up and sprained/strained her wrist. A small dog ran out in front of her at Gage Park, she swerved to avoid, hit gravel and went down and bloodied herself good. As we've got a four month old wee one at home, it'll depend on how she's feeling Wednesday as to whether I can make it out or not.
I won't know til Wednesday, but I'll do my best.

I'd certainly be up for another session. It was a lot of fun seeing a different group (and apocalypse) in action. It had a very different feel from the "home game" Kevin runs.
