Game Wanted!

I'm primarily a player who is seeking a game with fun, creative people in any of these genres: horror/post-apoc/monster, western, pulp, or fantasy. I have a strong preference for systems like  Primetime Adventures, Spirit of the Century,  Dogs in the Vineyard or similar. I'm keen on systems which foster player-driven stories.

I'd be up for a one-shot to start.

I enjoy dark gritty, mature play and wild gonzo action - not necessarily together.

Give me a poke!

I'm not familiar with the systems, but if you can find a group to play, I'd be interested.

Well if we all lived a little closer ir would be easier, I could GM you CP2020 or Dresden.

What days/times were you thinking about?

I'll also check with my group and see if anyone's up for travelling out to Hamilton for gaming -- I know a few of us are crazy enough to :)

CP2020 isn't the system for me.

If you are up to try Dread let me know. It's been sitting on my shelf for eons and we've never played!

I'm up to try anything once.

I'm up to try anything once. I'm out of town till the end of next week though - but anytime after that?

SDJThorin

Why not CP2020?

Really?  I thought you had a good time with CP2020 when I GMed it last?

What is it that you don't like?

Angie

Oh, I had fun for sure. That is a great genre and it was a fun one shot., but I'd lean more toward a game like TechNoir than CP2020 in terms of system preference within that genre.

Forgive me for butting in and

Forgive me for butting in and putting words in his mouth, but I think Stephen is asking what about the system you weren't fond of, not what systems you are fond of. Specifics!

Stephen, I also enjoyed the CP2020 game, and have some nostalgic attachment to the system (though I think I'd forgotten most things, or we used a later edition, or something). Some of the crunch with regards to object stats (ammo, reload rate, soak values etc) is not right up my alley anymore though, and my ideal cyberpunkish system would see those aspects marginalized a bit more. There are also some aspects of other systems I enjoy a lot, particularly those dealing with character goals, plot development, and other "story stuff" that my ideal system would interface with in some way.

For me, it's certainly not that CP2020 isn't "good", but that other systems are "better" at pushing my particular buttons - that's my personal preference, and not speaking for Angie or anyone else.

Right there with you :)

Hey Mikael,

I'm right there with you, and for my personal game I'm working on mods to do some of that  -- The Con game will not be using them :)

I also find myself trending towards more Fate-like systems that are about the RP and less about the number crunching  :)
