CyberPunk 2080 Game

Hey All,

Just wanted to post something here to give a shout out to everyone that attends the Game Night.

I'm the guy who GMed the CP2020 game a few months back and I'm hoping to run more games.

For anyone who played in my games, feel free to drop me a line here so we can connect :)

While I can't participate in

While I can't participate in this game, I just had to reply that we are truly living in science fiction times.  The first version of this game was Cyberpunk 2013, remember that?  That's two years from now!

The brain implants keep getting postponed.  I was promised a brain implant!  Where is my brain implant?

Actually, at the rate iPhones get upgraded to new versions, brain implants would probably be a bad idea.  Going to Rogers to get a new iPhone is trivial compared to getting a new neurosurgery every year to upgrade the circuitry.

I'm still waiting for

I'm still waiting for nanotechnology to fix all disease.

And better-than-human bionic legs. And before you think it, Stephen, those are legs without butt compartments! (Technoir game reference for the horrified readers.) ;)

Thigh compartments!

Those were thigh compartments thank-you-very-much!  LOL

But yes the flashing of the chrome butt was a hilarious eye popper

Pah, no new circuitry would

Pah, no new circuitry would be required. With virtual machine technology - which we have had in cellphones forever (Java is really a virtual machine, Android uses the Dalvik virtual machine for its runtime environment, etc) - you'd just wirelessly flash a firmware upgrade to add additional functionality. If you need more processing power, you can externalize a supplemental computing device kept at your belt (or just bolted on to the side of your head!), which can be replaced like a cell phone whenever a new faster unit comes out.

No, the real issue is in the neural interface, and they're making pretty good progress in that field. I'd say if experimental versions aren't available by 2020, someone's not doing their job.

2013

Ah the fond bloody memories -- and the grave markers for the hundreds of my PCs that were killed in that meat grinder of a game :)
